I started out with my first wedding back in 1991, when a co-worker said; “I have no idea how to plan a wedding, do you? I said, “I have never planned one, but how hard can it be?” We jumped in and it became something special! I remember the family was from Hawaii and the flowers were orchid leis flown in from Hawaii and everything was so beautiful! The reward was seeing all the planning coming together to really create the best day of her life!

I moved to North Carolina shortly after my first event planning adventure and made NC my home! The Southern hospitality is so warm and welcoming. I have been planning weddings in my spare time mostly for family and close friends for the past 25+ years. The last twelve years I have had a wonderful opportunity to plan High School proms at the place of my full-time employment, this opportunity really has fueled my enjoyment of event planning.

Creating Memories by Kris was officially launched in 2021. I am having the most amazing time working with brides, families, and individuals bringing the memorable magic of their events to life.
